Jesus’ Instruction Book of Life VBS – Week of July 13-17

Story: The Parable of the Sower & the Seed (Matthew 13:1-23)

Snack: Dirt Cup (recipe yields 8 servings)

Ingredients

· 2 cups cold milk

· 1 package of instant chocolate or vanilla pudding mix (4 ounces)

· 1 container of frozen whipped topping, thawed (8 ounces)

· 1 package chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed (16 ounces)

Directions

· Beat milk and pudding mix together in a bowl until well blended and slightly thickened.

· Let mixture stand to thicken, about 5 minutes.

· Stir whipped topping and ½ of the crushed cookies into pudding.

· Spoon 1 tablespoon crushed cookies into each serving cup.

· Fill each cup 3/4 full with pudding mixture.

· Top cups with remaining crushed cookies.

· Refrigerate for 1 hour, then enjoy!

Craft: Plant seeds

What you’ll need

· A container

· Potting soil

· pencil

· 1 package of seeds (flowers, beans, other)

· Water

Directions

· Fill your container 2/3 full of potting soil

· Use the pencil to poke holes into the soil (probably enough to plant 3-4 seeds depending on the size of your container) about 1 to1/2 inches down.

· Following the directions on your seed packet plant a few of the seeds.

· Cover the holes over with soil from the container.

· Use the water to wet the soil so that it’s damp.

· Water your plant once a day and watch it grow!

Game/Exercise: Yoga nature poses (yoga mat or towel)
